Who We Are

Leslie-Ann Sheppard

Leslie draws inspiration from her sommelier experience at Nantucket restaurants, Oran Mor and The Chanticleer and from her travels. She has journeyed through many of the world's premier wine regions, sometimes getting her hands dirty working a wine harvest. Other times as a wine buyer with a full schedule of cellar tastings with winemakers. Each experience has cultivated personal connections between wine and place.

She has tasted every wine offered at The Cellar, and has chosen each wine carefully to meet the needs of her clientele. Formally an English teacher, Leslie still enjoys educating those interested in understanding wine. She writes a bi-weekly column, 'Uncorked,' in Nantucket's newspaper, The Inquirer and Mirror, and conducts regular wine tastings at The Cellar.

Peter Sheppard

Peter is first a professional fishing guide, and second a lover of wine. He is the captain of Rusty Fly Fishing Charters, and when he is not on the water, he is at The Cellar. Peter has traveled extensively, fishing and wine tasting. He has been involved with The Cellar since its inception. He attends regular wine tastings and knows intimately the wines and beers offered at The Cellar.
